The Farmhouse is located just in front of the
dairy barns and creamery building. Creamer’s
Field trail system is open year-round and
multi-use trails are groomed throughout the
winter. In addition to the trails, there are
viewing platforms around the margins of the
fields as well as a Visitor Center and gift shop
located in the historic Farmhouse. Inside the
Farmhouse Visitor Center are exhibits on bird
migration, wildlife found on the Refuge, and the
history of the Creamer’s Dairy. There is also a
small gift shop located in the Visitor Center
carrying an array of nature-themed and locally
made items. |

Features over 70 historically significant
American automobiles and showcases the
interesting heritage of the automobile during
Alaska’s post-Gold Rush era. The collection
includes rare gems like a 1899 Hertel, 1904
Stevens-Duryea, 1917 Owen-Magnetic, 1921 Heine-Velox,
1933 Auburn V-12 dual ratio custom speedster and
1938 Elto Midget. Visitors can also view
the museum’s vintage fashion collection, which
traces the progression of fashion from the late
Victorian through early Swing eras. |

The museum building consist of two parts a large
shop area to work on Engine #1 and other
restoration projects, and a smaller area where
we have an area for displays and a short track
to display the engine. This is a working museum
where visitors can see what is going on in the
shop and learn something about the engine and
the Tanana Valley Railroad. See the

Pioneer Museum displays historical collections of photos
and artifacts of Fairbanks and the Fairbanks mining
district from its beginnings in 1902 and early days
through World War II. The show, "The Big Stampede"
portrays the Gold Rushes to the Klondike and to
Fairbanks. It comes alive through the brush of
Fairbanks' and Alaska's premiere artist, C. "Rusty"
Heurlin. It is dramatically lit as one progresses
through history, guided by the descriptive narrative of
Alaska Poet Laureate Ruben Gaines. |
