His full name Was Edmond Franklin
Joseph Rayburn, Jr. The family was from Arkansas, think he was
born there, though much of his early life was spent on the west
coast, primarily in California. He did move to Alaska at a
fairly young age (early adulthood), and stayed there for the
remainder of his life. He passed away in 2007 while living in
Willow, Alaska. "Day of the Ahgvik" is one of his most

I use to stop in his studio,
where he taught oil painting, on Blueberry north across from the
Salvation Army Thrift Store on W. No. Lights Blvd.
He taught in the studio off Blueberry for several years. I was always a fan of Sydney Laurence and I guess
that is why I liked Mr. Rayburn's work. Most of his oil paintings are on 16x20 canvas....
