Summer Solstice Celebrations - The Longest Days of the Year Anchorage Downtown, in Town Square, 100 West 13th Avenue (13th Ave between A & C Sts)  Chugiak-Eagle River Bear Paw Festival - Downtown Eagle River Fairbanks Schedule  - A weeks worth of activities - all under the Midnight Sun Juneau Spirit of Adventure - A 200 mile sailboat race, starts & ends in Juneau Moose Pass Summer Solstice Moose Pass - on Seward Hiway Nome Midnight Sun Folk Fest - June 18-20th 2010, River Raft Race; Jump into Bering Sea Seldovia Summer Solstice Music Festival Skagway Elks Summer Solstice Party Soldotna Summer Solstice Festival - held at the Diamond M Ranch
June 21st - Check with the town for exact weekend this event is held - around the 3rd weekend in June.
Most places celebrate Summer Solstice on the weekend closest Solstice.
Art Openings - Summer Months
Anchorage First Friday of Month Fairbanks First Friday of Month Homer  First Friday of Month Juneau First Friday of Month On the first Friday of each month, Juneau galleries, museums and shops stay open late, host show and exhibit openings, artist meet-and-greets, many activities.  No admission to City Museums after 4pm.  Generally all are open from 4pm to 7pm     Kenai/Soldotna First Thursday of Month Matanuska-Susitna Friday Flings Palmer 2nd Saturday Evening Art Walk Seldovia First Tuesday Art Walk Seward First Friday of Month Talkeetna Second Saturday of the Month Wasilla Thursday Art Walks
One Time Walk or End of Season Shows
Bethel Arts - Visit the Art Guild, The Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation for displays of traditional native arts and crafts, and the Cultural Center has art on display & a gift shop.   Ketchikan Celebration of the Sea Art Walk - Early May, see what's new in the shops from our local artists and participate in the Special Events.  All this on a Friday evening from 5pm to 8pm.   Kodiak End of Summer Art & Culture Walk  - Labor Day Weekend: Businesses and organizations kept their doors open late to give the community a chance to view local art in all its many forms.
The galleries, studios, cafes and showrooms feature select artists works, some have the artist on site, many provide demonstrations of the art techniques
